THAILAND TOUR

Today Daniel and I went on a tour outside of Bangkok. The day started at 5:55am and we were picked up at 6:45am to head straight to the Floating Market. This was of course after we drove half way around Bangkok picking up other tour passengers. By 9:15 we were at the Floating Market where the local people sell their produce and goods off boats and the side of the canals. Its like Venice without its beauty...lol We left the market on a long boat and ended up at a Snake show that we did not bother to see cause we couldn't justify 200baht (au$6) to see some indian dude playing with his snake. If I really wanted to see that I could look out my window at home in Australia and watch it for free. We then went to the Bridge over the River Kwai, the same bridge the movie was made about. It was to me just a bridge over a dirty river. On the other side of the river we fed an elephant some banana's and then got back to the tour bus From there we headed a further 1.5 hours out of town to where we were supplied 'lunch'. I say 'lunch' cause only a few of us on the tour ate more than a few mouthfuls before heading to the kiosk for a can of pepsi max and a bag of chips. A further 40 mins away we ended up at the climate to the day....the Tiger Temple. There we got to sit with tigers and have our pics taken. There were adult tigers and 6 month old cubs. We had pics with both. At this temple the monks supposably take care of the big cats but I only saw the one monk and he seemed to be off with the fairys.....maybe he has the only ganja in Thailand. Tomorrow we head back to the land of nothing for the ParaGames...... oh how I wish the protesters would take over the Bangkok Int Airport so we could stay here longer....... See you in China!!!!!!

CHADD BECAME AN UNCLE.....

At 2.17am (thailand time) this morning I became in Uncle.
Little Jada Small was born this morning and she is a very healthy and cute looking baby. I think she gets her looks from her Uncle.
Im so happy to be an Uncle. I have been waiting for the phone call as I knew it would happen while I was away.
Congratulations to Britta and Scott!!!!!!!!!
Now we are off to go baby shopping.....not for a baby ourselves, (im sure they sell copies in Thailand somewhere) but for some clothes and pretty things for little girls.

THAILAND.....more shopping

Today we went to Khaosan Road Markets where all the backpackers hang out. It was the same street that we got our tattoos done. It was obviously a street for travellers on a budget. Two Pad See-Eeuw cost us $3.50aus which is a quarter of the price we would pay for 1 in Australia...and twice as nice.
Shopping seemed to be the focus today which so much stuff now needing to be couriered home cause we cannot afford the extra weight in our baggage when we finally come home from China (oh I cannot wait for that).
We then went to MBK with is the best shopping centre in Bangkok. Its 6-7 levels of retail therapy.....and in case you are asking, yes it was good for the soul. We then returned to the hotel for an afternoon swim and a fruit smoothie by the pool. There seemed to be a commotion towards the end of our swim whereby (I think) another guest advised the pool attendant that there was an 'unknown' object in the pool. I evacuated straight away cause I saw several young Chinese kids down that end of the pool. From my experience in China I could imagine they would swim in their own shit too. Dirty buggers!!!!hahahaha
Later tonight we went to the red light district called Patpong; which is great for ping pong if thats your sport. We ventured down the Gay Lane which was a bit seedy. It was full of old westerners in search of a Thai Gob Job. Daniel wouldn't let me see what was behind closed doors. One guy said that his bar had big dicked men....I asked him how that is possible being that they are Thai boys. ......you had to laugh!

More THAILAND tattoo's

Today I went and got more bamboo tattoo done.
It says "Family Freedom Life" in Thai....I love it.
After visiting China it really opened my eyes as to just how
free we are in Australia and most of the modern world.

TATTOO'S IN THAILAND

SAWADEE KARP!!!!!!

Last night we arrived in Thailand and ask soon as we woke this morning we were tempted to go shopping...... so we went down the street to our usual tailor and I ordered an Amarni suit...noice Kimmy noice. Its hot. I got back tomorrow for a second fitting.

Then Daniel came with me so I could look at getting my new tattoo done with bamboo instead of with a tattoo gun or as they call it here..."with machine". You have to laugh.

So I decided to get mine done today, and Daniel all of a sudden said that he would get a tattoo too.....but with machine..lol....and he did.

Here are the results. Daniels is totally custom made and mine was done with a bamboo stick with a needle on the end. Funny though, the bamboo tattoo does not hurt to get done. I thought it would. Machine hurts 10 times more.
Daniel was very brave cause he is no good with pain.

I am so stoked with mine and I love it more than all my other tats. Daniels came out so well and he loves it. At the moment he is lying on the lounge cause I think it took it out of him. A big tattoo usually does.....

Enjoy!

CLOSING CEREMONY

Yay...the 1st part is over. I can almost smell that nice Australian air.... Ceremony was pretty poor. They kept the Athletes and Officials (us) in the tunnel under the stadium for over 1 hour sweating our tits off. Chinese people just put up with that sort of nonsense but us aussies thought there was no common sense used. Overall it was great to walk out with the athletes etc...great honour. Go Rwanda!!!

OPENING CEREMONY VIDEO

I was in the mood last night so I decided to edit some of the Opening Ceremony footage before I got out of 'the zone'.
This was an amazing ceremony. The special effects and miming techniques by the chinese were better than most drag shows I have seen.
My favourite was the 2008 drummers at the beginning of the performance...... what was your favourite part??????

What is my taxi driver doing???????????

On my way back home from the village today the taxi driver stops on the side of the road....... I had no idea what he was doing. In fact I thought he was making me get out in some Shanty Town in the middle of nowhere.......

I finally realised why he had stopped.........................

BAD ENGLAND

When you order a Taxi....and get a club sandwich this is what is at the bottom of the Room Service bill........ IF anyone can tell me what they are saying i would be appreciative.....very bad england!

PICS FROM THE OLYMPIC EXPO

Today we went to the Olympic Expo in downtown Beijing. We decided to take the taxi cause 3 subway lines before midday is not what I call fun. The taxi cost 65RMB which is about $12aus. The distance was about from Parramatta to Mounty County so it was pretty cheap. We then subwayed it to the Pearl Market, which is a mix of clothes, DVDs, electronics and many many low paid chinese girls saying..." Hey Mr, what are you looking for?".....my standard reply is "Im looking for my friend!"

Random Pics

Here is a clip I made for Team Rwanda, comprising of pics and video from the Opening Ceremony.

INTERNET SUCKS IN CHINA

Hi All,

Sorry to not posting anything for over a week. The internet is crap in Beijing and when it does work Daniel needs to use the net to do his work.

We have had 2 great 'blue sky' days where beleive it or not the sky actually was blue. Who would have thought it was possible.

So back tracking a little, the Opening Ceremony was amazing. Daniel marched with Rwanda in his Zebra outfit, which Im sure was one of the highlights of his life. The Rwandan team are truly great people. They are so kind, inviting and appreciative of what Daniel has done to help their team. They even made a Rwandan name for him that refers to him being 'god like'. I have had to bring him back down to earth......god like......hahahahahaha.

We went to the swimming finals at the water cube two days ago. A few people told me that we are on the TV at the swimming. I gather this is because all the Chinese left the arena when China did not win.

I also met Princess Mary and th guy she married the other day. She is lovely and down to earth.....she is Aussie after all. Also met Cadel Evans.....bit of a snob, should have told him that coming second the the Tour de France is just like coming last....lol

Forgot to mention that we were invited to the Prince of Tonga's Official Team Welcome dinner. We ended up not going but it was nice to be invited and the invites are a great thing to keep. Not every day a prince invites you somewhere......even if it is just Tonga.

Hotel is getting better, toilet still need 4 flushes to sink one of my ships. hahaha...but at least its better plumbing that Athens. The communication at the hotel is still funny. You order a Club Sandwich and get a Taxi.

Today we are off to the DVD market and to the electronics market. I love shopping here. I will have to throw away old clothes just to get home some of the greatstuff I have bought. At the supermarket you can buy 4 Pepsi Max, 2 beers, water, milk, ciggies and it only comes to about $2.50 aus.

I will know I have been here too long when I start finding the Chinese attractive. Its not happened yet so I am safe. The guy that runs the restaurant in the hotel pats we on the arse when we meet. I dont know if I like it or not.....hahahaha.....Ill get back to you on that one.

I promise I will try and update you as best i can as more happens.

Many people have my Chinese mobile so if you get it from someone give me a call sometime. We are only 2 hours behind Australia.......even though it feels like 2 centurys.

Be good.........Chadd and Daniel
